60's British Invader Still Going Strong!
by
Joseph
(the
Man w/the Cigar)
I challenge you to guess
his name
The subject of this poem
He's clean, well dressed, he's talented
And most of you would know 'im
He started out on Brit TV, a street named Coronation
It wasn't long before he was an overnight sensation
And this came not from acting, but from singing with his mates
They emulated famous bugs and traveled to The States
The girls went wild, they'd scream his name, and Mrs. Brown's as well.
And Mick and Keith observing this cried, "What the bloody
'ell??!"
I heard he dated Jezebel, not what's-her-name's cute daughter
He understood just how she felt like every singer ought-er
And Hen-er-ey The 8th became a house hold name! Three cheers!
'Cause happy songs sell records whilst the sad ones just sell beers.
The posh hotels, the many gifts, the watches and gold chains
The sold-out shows, the fainting birds, the limos and the planes
Were all a part of this man's life when he was still a teen
Thank goodness though, his head's on straight and he can still be seen
He still plays shows, he has cd's and signs them 'cause he's pleased to.
So, who's the man I'm speaking of? And don't say that I teased you!
