Benton Harbor – by Eunice (aka Eu) I
must admit my worry, with the timing of the show … A February concert will surely get
some snow. But we were blessed once again with
an outstanding day! And people came from near and far to
see the Hermits play! We got to see a Sound Check! “Be
there at five o’clock!” Rick and Ron, Dave and Andy showed us
how they rock! Rick explained what they do and Andy
played a tune! They made us laugh when Ron pretended
HE was Peter Noone! Then Peter came and joined them, you
should have heard us cheer! He talked a while then took requests
for songs we wanted to hear! He sang “This Door Swings Both
Ways” and “Sentimental Friend.” Then “Thinking of EU”… oh all
right, YOU!
Which made us laugh again! He sang a Happy birthday song for
Lydia’s 13th year! How sweet that he would do this! Peter’s
such a dear! Then we had some punch and cookies
with Peter and the guys. We took some pictures, chatted, and
then said our goodbyes. We hadn’t waited very long, when
the show began. We all clapped to see Rob Grill there
with his Grass Roots band. Then after intermission - - This came
so suddenly: The HERMAN’S HERMITS Union Jack was
lowered down to see! As “Vindaloo” was played, the
‘banned’ came walking in! Then Ron with his cute “accent”
introduced Herman! Wow! Peter
was so energetic, witty, and so fine! He sounded good as ever, and looked
like 39! I’m glad he sang “No Milk
Today,” I’ve loved that for so long! I like that joke he tells us now
before he sings that song! I melt each time that he sings the
song “I Understand!” And “For Your Love” is really
cool featuring the ‘banned’! Too soon the show was over, and Peter
stayed to sign Autographs for anyone who waited in
the line! I’ve been to many shows before, and
all of them are fun! Thank you, Peter! What a day! Can’t wait till the next one!
